Along the way, he cracks DNA cases and helps others discover how DNA makes each of us truly special and unique, just like the Frite Family. In 2020, the very first “Frite” was knitted for Dr ViVi by a very special human. There was no pattern, no plan, and no particular creature in mind. Just a pair of chopsticks, some leftover wool from the bottom of a sewing basket, a spark of creativity and a whole lot of love! He was stitched, stuffed, accessorised, and named “Frite” (because of the slightly surprised look on his face!). At first, he just sat tight on Dr ViVi's bedside table. But he didn’t stay there for long.
Frite began to travel far and wide - tucked into Dr Vivi's pockets, or packed into her carry-on, visiting DNA science labs around the world and adventuring to many wonderful places... and the Frite journey had only just begun.
These days, Frite is also known as Professor Frite: DNA Scientist, DNA Detective, and star of his very own adventure book series!
And slowly, Frite found his place.
Not just as Dr Vivi's beloved travel companion, but as the "main" character in her book: about a scientist..but not just any scientist, a DNA scientist!

Over time, Frite grew into something even more amazing. He became Professor Frite: DNA Detective,
clever and curious with a love for solving mysteries with DNA. He started showing up not just in DNA labs, but in all sorts of surprising places: at the giant Pyramids of Giza, with gorillas deep in Rwanda’s forests, at the Maasai Market in Nairobi, and even grinning outside the White House in Washington, D.C.!

Dr ViVi is Frite's Human, travel & adventure buddy and a real-life Forensic DNA Expert. She travels all across the world and helps countries use DNA science to solve crimes, bring home missing people or connect them to their loved ones.
Wherever Dr ViVi goes, Professor Frite goes too,
so he never misses a single adventure.
